English Department Film Club Reconvenes

The English department film club will be reactivating for the year. In the interest of expanding students' awareness and interest in film history, Senior Lecturer and English Studies Coordinator Steven Doles has put together a program of thrillers from the 1960s and 1970s by the important directors William Friedkin and John Frankenheimer. The club will be watching the following films:

The French Connection -- Saturday, September 8 at 2pm in the English library (401A Hall of Languages)

The Exorcist -- Saturday, October 13 at 2pm in the English library

The Manchurian Candidate -- Saturday, November 10 at 2pm in the English library

Seven Days in May -- Saturday, December 8 at 2pm in the English library


There will be free pizza and lively discussion following the movie. If you plan to attend, please rsvp to Steven Doles at smdoles@syr.edu and. There is now a listserv for events related to film in the English department, ETSFilmClub@listserv.syr.edu and you may contact Professor Doles to be added.
